A simple reminder to give yourself some grace, enjoy the good moments, remember what you’ve already made it through, and keep moving forward.

💡 The Takeaway: Life doesn't have to be perfect before you're allowed to enjoy it. Give yourself some grace, notice the good moments when they show up, and remember—you don't have to have everything figured out today.

Some days are easy. Some aren't. There are seasons when everything seems to click and others when even the little things take more energy than they should. That's part of being human. So today, instead of talking about real estate, mortgages, interest rates, homeownership or anything else we normally talk about around here, I thought I'd share a few reminders that might be more useful.

Things change.

Whatever today looks like, it won't look exactly like this forever. Good seasons change and difficult seasons do too. Sometimes the best thing you can do is give tomorrow the opportunity to be different.

You're allowed to enjoy the good parts.

Life doesn't have to be perfect before you're allowed to enjoy it. Laugh at something stupid. Eat the good meal. Take the afternoon off. Sit outside. Call the friend. Enjoy the moment that's right in front of you.

Remember what you've already made it through.

You've probably handled things you once weren't sure you could handle. That doesn't mean you have to handle everything alone, either. Asking someone for help can be part of moving forward.

Give yourself some grace.

Most of us would never speak to someone we love the way we occasionally speak to ourselves. Give yourself the same patience you'd give them.

You don't have to carry everything.

You can care deeply about another person without taking ownership of their anger, negativity or problems. Sometimes a healthy boundary is good for everybody involved.

An ending isn't always the end of the story.

Some losses simply hurt, and there's no reason to pretend otherwise. But sometimes an unexpected ending eventually creates room for something you never would have considered before.

Find something good today.

It doesn't have to be profound. A great cup of coffee. Your dog being ridiculous. Sunshine coming through the window. A song you haven't heard in years. Dinner with your family. Five quiet minutes when nobody needs anything from you. Those little things count. Life can be complicated and messy and frustrating and still contain some really wonderful moments.

Notice those moments when they show up.

And if today isn't particularly great?

Tomorrow gets another chance.
